A not-for-profit provider-sponsored healthcare system

The Challenge

Our client was a leading Medicaid provider. Prior to the Affordable Care Act (ACA), there was a long-standing cap in the industry on the number of members that could be enrolled. After ACA was passed, Illinois was one of 31 states that elected to expand Medicaid services.

This expansion resulted in exponential growth for our client’s organization in an effort to support the addition of new members. They lacked the infrastructure to grow the business and did not have an efficient process in place to meet their staffing needs. Prior to working with Advanced Resources, each manager was using their own resources resulting in an inability to fill high-volume project needs, inconsistency in candidate quality, and poor culture fit.

The Solution

Advanced Resources was brought in as our client’s strategic partner due to our expertise streamlining similar departments. In a three-year span, they expanded from 263 to 485 internal employees. In that same timeframe, Advanced Resources successfully placed 175 individuals ranging from entry-level to management roles for both temp-to-perm and direct hire needs.

While the rapid growth impacted the entire organization, the greatest strain was put on the customer service department. Our team filled 90% of four training classes for the department and coordinated large-scale interviews in order to expedite decision-making for higher-volume projects.

The Benefit

With the cap being lifted, our client’s focus was on long-term growth. In order to support this effort, they began converting placements to full-time employees. In addition, our business intelligence tools provided real-time reporting to help our client make informed, strategic staffing decisions.

Advanced Resources' focus on quality candidates resulted in:

  • 42% of Advanced Resources' placements being hired on full-time
  • 33% of our client's total growth was attributed to our placements over the three-year period
